Trip To New Zealand : Land of the Long White Cloud (NZ Day 2)

Pejam celik pejam celik… eerrr where am I??? it’s super cold and I can hear the birds singing… very  close to my room. Terus saja melompat dari katil… Saya di New Zealand!!! Dan hari ternyata sudah cerah secerah-cerahnya. Pukul berapa sekarang???!!!

Almost 9am!!! Aduh!!! Kami sudah kesiangan rupanya!! Apalagas, bergegaslah kesemuanya … mandi, bersiap dan berkemas. Mujurlah our host tidak terlalu strict dalam urusan check out. As I’m asking for an apologized, she straight away say “No.. no it’s okay. No need to rush. We understand that all of you must be so tired with your long flight”… Terima kasih daun keladi sangat-sangat… next time kami musti datang lagi melawat ecececeh… sudah memasang angan-angan nampaknya hihi

We have our brunch quickly and have a little tour around the farm. Takde lah tour mana sangat. Altho our host keep on telling us tempat-tempat yang menarik di dalam kawasan hostel kami nih, tapi oleh kerana masa dah terlalu suntuk maka kami ronda-ronda tempat berdekatan saja. Seriously, this place is super nice and off course super cold. Ditambah lagi dengan hujan gerimis-gerimis pada pagi itu. Bertambahlah sejuknya.  Senang cakap, kalau bernafas tuh nampak berasap-asap lah keluar dari mulut (jakun!! Haha)

Oamaru – Dunedin – Balclutha (8 November 2015)

Journey for today

Perjalanan hari ini agak straight forward. Tak perlu melencong-lencong seperti semalam. Tapi, oleh kerana kami bergerak agak lewat pagi itu, maka bersedialah untuk bermain kejar-kejar dengan masa hohoh…

Mula gerak dari Oamaru lebih kurang pukul 11 pagi. Dan lokasi pertama kami hari ini ialah ke Moeraki Boulders. Ahaaaa…. We were supposed go to this place yesterday for sunset. Tapi sampai Oamaru pun dah gelap, sunset ke mana kami pun ke mana hahaa… So, we plan for sunrise lah konon-kononnya… ke laut jugak hahah. Tapi demi nak fulfill kan our selfie task, then Moeraki Boulders it is!!

Sebenarnya, kawasan nih hanyalah sekadar pantai (Pantai Koekohe err saya baca dah macam kuih kuih… mungkin sedang lapar hihi) yang mempunyai batu-batu yang unik which is bulat-bulaaaatttt saja bentuknya. Nothing else. Titik.  There’s no scientific explanation how those rocks become in huge spherical shape (Maybe there is but I did not dig it into that detail… malas hehe). The view at the beach is so stunning walaupun mendung. But  we’re definitely had a good time there.

We spend quite a long time here. Sempat shopping for souvenir and sipping a cup of coffee while writing a postcard for ourselves. Lepas mengadap angin laut yang kuat dan sejuk nih, minum kopi panas memang sangat melegakan hehe. So, off we go to the next pitstop. May the weather and time be with us. We are far behind the schedule actually.

Perjalanan ke Dunedin saya kira agak mencabar. Hujan turun renyai-renyai dan jalanraya sangat berkabus. Agak gerun juga kami dalam kereta as we couldn’t see anything in front of us. Kabus teruk!!!

Akhirnya sampai juga ke Dunedin. Hujan kelihatan sudah reda but still matahari masih malu-malu nak tunjukkan diri. Dunedin nih merupakan 2^nd largest city in South Island. It’s so called education city because in Dunedin is where the University of Otago, the oldest university in NZ is located. Aisyah was super duper excited to come here coz her brother used to study in here. Dan dia pun pernah datang sini dulu bersama keluarga. So, secara tak sengaja, kami dah ada tour guide tak bertauliah di sini hehe…

It’s quite easy to find this university. And somemore, Aisyah brings us to several places that she’s familiar with. Kawasan university agak lengang dan tenang. Mungkin pelajar sedang bercuti barangkali. Kami dibawa ke bangunan utama university dan juga student centre (ala-ala Pekan Buku Universiti Malaya). Sempat juga merembat car sticker untuk dilekatkan pada Blackie nanti. Perasan student luar negara laa konon-kononnya kehkehkeh

Al Huda Mosque

Ahaa… sememangnya sudah memasang hajat untuk menziarah masjid di Dunedin, masjid di negara bukan Islam!!! Alang-alang dah singgah ke sini, langsung sembahyang jamak sekali. JJJ Menurut abang si Aisyah, ada kedai yang menjual daging halal berdekatan  masjid nih. But sadly, we couldn’t find the shop. Tutup kot.

Sebenarnya banyak lagi tempat-tempat menarik di Dunedin yang kami nak pergi tapi masa memang tersaaangatlah tidak mencukupi. Plus, the rain start pouring again *sigh.. Sempat tengok dari jauh je dan tengok signboard je tempat-tempat tuh…  Sorry Dunedin. LLL Ada rezeki, lain kali kami datang lagi ye… Insya Allah.

So, before we heading to Balclutha, we went to Park & Save market first to restock our food. Stock makanan laa kononnya. Kami bertiga dok borong coklat Whitakers banyak-banyak keh keh keh… nak buat camne… murah… kalo di Malaysia, tak mampu nak beli banyak berbundle-bundle haha

Muram-muram saja kami dalam kereta sebab tak dapat berjalan-jalan banyak tempat hari ini… well, semuram cuaca hari ini jugak. Hujan turun sepanjang perjalanan. Kalau ikutkan plan asal, kami sepatutnya ke Nugget Point untuk sunset. And again, I don’t think it’s gonna happen *sedih kuasa dua. Posh drives carefully due to fogging and slippery road. But Alhamdulillah, we safely arrived in Balclutha, the largest town in this South Otago. Pekan nih nampak tenang je. Not much people walking around… maybe because it’s already pass 6 o’clock in the evening. Most of the shops are already closed at this moment.

Our stay for tonight is Helensborough Motor Inn. Agak senang nak cari tempat nih since ianya berdekatan dengan town city. Takde laa berpusing-pusing melilau sana sini. Masuk-masuk je the owner terus je offer “Do you want some milk?”… Blur kejap hahah Yang kelakarnye, dapat sebotol comel je susu tuh padahal kami bertiga hahahah.  Tak mengapa, sebab susu tuh sangat diperlukan untuk dinner malam nanti hehe

I must say, this place is my favourite so far. Biliknya luas dan yang penting, ada attached dapur. Best gile!!!! Chef Ona in action korang!!! And off course, tonight’s dinner lah yang paling mewah sepanjang perjalanan kami di sini. We cook. We do laundry. We eat. We packed. We sleep. Good night. nZZzzzzzzzz……
